Frequently Asked Questions
USAGE
What is the lifespan of LINES rechargeable batteries?
LINES batteries are built to last, with a lifespan of 1,000 charge cycles. This longevity ensures sustained performance, making them a cost-effective and eco-friendly choice compared to disposable alternatives.
Can I bring LINES batteries on an airplane?
Carry LINES rechargeable batteries in your carry-on luggage without worry. While we cannot speak for every airline's policies, we recommend checking with the specific airline you're traveling with.
Can I use LINES batteries to charge other devices, such as my phone?
LINES batteries are designed for efficient power delivery to devices, not as external chargers. The micro USB port on LINES batteries is exclusively for recharging the batteries themselves. For charging other devices, consider dedicated external power banks.
How does the power output of LINES compare to traditional batteries?
LINES batteries boast an impressive power output, providing a reliable 30% boost over standard alkaline batteries. From extended device runtime to enhanced performance, LINES delivers the power you need for your daily adventures.
Is it safe to leave LINES batteries plugged in after they are fully charged?
To ensure optimal battery health, it's advisable to unplug LINES batteries once they are fully charged. This practice helps prevent overcharging and ensures long-lasting performance.
Is there a risk of explosion if LINES batteries are punctured?
LINES batteries undergo rigorous testing and adhere to the international safety standard IEC62133-2 for all lithium batteries. This standard includes extensive safety testing, crush tests, and flame tests. LINES batteries are engineered with a robust external metal casing, surpassing the strength of many typical lithium battery designs. While no lithium battery should be punctured with a metal object, LINES batteries prioritize safety in all conditions.
CHARGING
Do I need a special charger?
No special charger required! LINES batteries feature a convenient built-in micro-USB port, eliminating the need for additional accessories. We include a 4-ended micro-USB cable, allowing you to charge up to four batteries simultaneously.
How long is the charging time?
Charging time is impressively fast, contingent on the USB power source you use. Anticipate under one hour for AAA batteries and under two hours for AA batteries.
What type of charger should I use?
Each LINES battery draws 0.5A during charging. For optimal charging time when using our 4:1 cable for four batteries simultaneously, ensure the USB power supply is rated at 2A output (clearly marked on the power supply). While most modern smartphone and tablet power supplies support 2A charging, some older supplies or computer USB ports may offer 0.8A or 0.5A. LINES batteries will still charge with lower output, but it will take longer.
How many times can they be recharged?
Thanks to advanced Lithium-ion technology, LINES batteries endure over a thousand charges. Quick and easy to recharge, these batteries ensure you're ready for action after just a short charging session.
Can I use my LINES batteries while recharging?
While technically feasible, we don't recommend using your batteries while recharging. Safety and reliability are paramount, and constant charge/discharge or on/off cycling during use may impact battery life and the performance of your devices.
How do I know when they are charged?
Our models feature a flashing green light during charging and a solid green light when fully charged, offering a clear indication of the battery status.
SAFETY
Device Compatibility:
Ensure seamless compatibility by using LINES USB rechargeable Li-ion batteries with devices designed for standard AA or AAA batteries.
Charging Source Assurance:
Utilize a dependable USB power source or a charger specifically crafted for Li-ion batteries from LINES. Avoid unverified chargers to ensure proper voltage regulation.
Avoid Overcharging:
Adhere to recommended charging times to prevent overcharging. Unplug batteries once fully charged to mitigate overheating and ensure safety.
Optimal Charging Environment:
Charge batteries in well-ventilated spaces. Avoid covering or enclosing them during charging to efficiently dissipate heat.
Temperature Considerations:
Store and use batteries in cool, dry places, shielded from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Elevated temperatures may compromise battery performance and safety.
Physical Integrity:
Regularly inspect batteries for any signs of damage, leaks, or abnormalities. Do not use damaged batteries, and promptly replace them when necessary.
Mindful of Capacity:
Be aware of battery capacity and adhere to recommended charging times. Exceeding these times may impact both battery life and safety.
Proper Disposal:
Follow jurisdiction-specific guidelines for the responsible disposal of Li-ion batteries due to their unique chemical composition.
Attentive Charging Practices:
Avoid leaving batteries unattended during charging. Attend to the charging process and disconnect batteries once fully charged.
Safe Transportation:
When carrying spare batteries, store them in protective cases to prevent short circuits. Check airline regulations, as specific restrictions may apply to the transportation of Li-ion batteries during air travel. Trust Lines for a safe and reliable energy companion.
